I'm glad to report that it rains as much in France as in the UK if last weekend in Paris is anything to go by where I was visiting Maison et Objet Despite the weather I had an inspirational visit to the exhibition and have returned brimming with ideas and enthusiasm.

Here are just a few of the latest trends and my interpretation of how you can achieve the look with our tiles.

Bisazza Jardin Bleu

I spotted lots of classical designs and shapes appearing in the most unexpected places. A huge mix of antique and vintage, time warm and distressed. I'm happy to say that Indigo was a big feature, with accents of pink to add that subtle touch of warmth.

Cielo Gong
Texture and pattern were everywhere, as demonstrated on this chest of drawers. Delicate hand-woven lace placed on a vivid lacquer finish to add layers of interest and contrast.

Link Dark Shadow Carpet

A particular favourite are these delicate metallic shades which reflect light in a dramatic fashion, creating a lighter than air sensation. This recreates a hand-made industrial look, traditional in a modern style with softer detailing for maximum contrast.
Melange Grey

Here we see a collection of soft pastels, relaxing and easy on the eye in amongst the bolder primaries.

Bisazza Coral

A big surprise was the marine influence; all things reef could be found from coral branches to sea urchins in various textures and patterns and appearing on fabric through to dinnerware.

The variety was endless. Re-cycled, up-cycled materials sitting alongside the manufactured new - a little something for everyone, no matter what your taste.
